Hot Smokin Chex is truly exceptional – he combines an excellent pedigree with a great performance of his own, proven over many years and culminating 2010 in the best European result (fifth place overall) with Grischa Ludwig at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky. Hot Smokin Chex completed his
stallion grading with a score of 8.4, the third highest overall mark ever awarded, and individual marks of 8.75 for type and conformation and 8.5 for the quality of his gait. The stallion was bred at Hilldale Farm, Kentucky, and aged three won the AQHA Congress Open Futurity in the US, the most important youngster examination in reining, and together with many other victories and placings fetched third place at the NRHA Open Futurity. With South Tyrolean trainer and rider Uli Kofler his story of success carried on unbroken in Europe: in 2008 the team became European Masters at the NRHA European Affiliate Championship Open and in no more than seven events rode to place 9 of the NRHA Top Ten world ranking. The AQHA, the global breeders’ association for American Quarter Horses, awarded the stallion the title of Open Superior Reining for his exceptional and consistent performance in the sport. The breeding team at the DQHA value Hot Smokin Chex as a “modern sport horse as we like to see it” – with a lovely character, always willing, calm and friendly. In brief: a horse you can trust.
