Frozen Semen and Stud Regulations

I.              General

 

When ordering semen, you accept our breeding regulations. With delivery of your mare, you also accept our stud and liability regulations. Details can be found in the mares’ stable.

 

The breeding season starts on 1 February and ends on 1 September. Stallions can be presented to interested breeders outside the official stallion presentations, please phone in advance.

 

Boxes and regular access to the paddock are provided for our visiting mares that are booked for insemination.

II.            Semen Orders

 

In order to guarantee optimal semen deliveries, please note the following:

Semen orders for the following day can be placed from Monday to Friday until 11am, Saturday until 9 am. Please order your semen over the phone only. Phone: (+49) 08561-1400

 

Note:

No shipping on Sundays and public holidays.

 

The shipment is delivered to the contracted vet via a private logistics company and incurs an additional charge.

 

Postage costs are as follows:

Collection of semen in person is also possible on Sundays and public holidays. Your delivery will be ready for you from 1 pm.

 

We usually ship a maximum of 3 doses per heat and provide you with the semen for the whole covering season. This excludes special offers.

 

With your delivery you receive two copies of the semen documentation form for each dose. Please check, sign and return one copy per semen dose within one week.

 

For delivery of frozen semen with our freezer box we charge a rental fee of € 75.00.

 

Please return the transport and freezer containers to us within eight days (postage free). In case of the freezer containers, we reserve the right to organize their return at your expense after 8 days.

 

III. Stud Fees and Miscellaneous

 

The stud fees in this catalogue are inclusive of VAT and are due on receipt of the first semen dose or on collection of the broodmare.

 

In case of non-gestation, we grant a rebate of 50% for the following year when choosing the same stallion. Should the inseminated mare retire from the breeding stock the following year, it is possible to carry over 25% of the stud fee rebate to another mare with the same choice of stallion.

This excludes stallions with a refund option and special offers. A veterinary certificate of non-gestation until 15.09.09 is required for all refunds.

 

If you want to cover multiple mares, please contact us regarding special terms and conditions.

 

If a stallion is unavailable for a certain reason (competition, illness, etc.) frozen sperm can be used or an alternative stallion can be offered.

 

At the end of the breeding season we provide you with a breeding certificate for the insemination. After all stud fees have been settled this will be sent to the breeder and the relevant breeding association. Should one of your foals that has been bred through one of our stallions win an award at a foal show, you will receive a voucher worth € 50.00 to be used in the next covering season. This excludes special offer stallions. Proof of the award has to be submitted to us.
